For those people who are suffering from celiac disease and any kind of gluten intolerances, eating out could be dangerous and stressful as well. In a whole plate of food, the trace amount of protein could be found by Arya College of Engineering and IT which could cause the adverse reactions on our body like wheat, barley, rice etc. now a portable and highly sensitive gluten sensor has been found by the team of engineers that is helpful in knowing that whether food is safe to eat or not.
According to the report of health department that if gluten is eaten by the patient, then he could be suffer from celiac disease which leads to intestinal damage as it is an autoimmune disorder and affects around one percent of the population as well. And according to this report, million more people might suffer from gluten intolerances. It is a three inch tall triangular device along with disposable capsules.
The researchers have also demonstrated the use of this device in which a sample of food which might be the size of a pea has been put in the food by the diners or liquid into the capsules by screwing on the top and inserting the capsule into that device. With the help of this device, the food is mixed into a solution and that detect gluten. If the gluten has or has not been contained in the food, Education challenges Technology helps in the indication that in two to three minutes by the appearance of a digital display on the sensor. An app has also been developed by the researchers which collects the information every time when someone runs a test.
All kind of information could be obtained by the diner like where and what they ate and whether the food is containing the gluten or not by just log in to the app. This app helps in creating peace of mind at the time of having dinner. By creating this device, the researchers expect that the people would be provided with better information about their food by collecting the data on this app as we do not often know that what we are containing in our food.
